Kostenevichi - a small village, Vileika district, 100 kilometers from Minsk. Main attraction - Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, which was built under the order of the Jesuits.
In the middle of the 17th century, the owner of the town of Kostenevichi signed off these lands to the Jesuit order. The Jesuit monks quickly erected a wooden temple, on the site of which a stone church of the Virgin Mary will appear a century later. The exact date of construction is 1763.
The architecture of the temple is late baroque. The church is rectangular in shape and without any frills, but attention should be paid to the complex shape of the pediment, which is complemented by a statue of the Virgin Mary.
The walls of the temple are framed by straight pilasters; a crucifix with diverging rays is located above the entrance in a niche.
On the left you can see a wooden bell tower, probably built in the second half of the 19th century.
The main architectural “highlight” of the church in the village of Kostenevichi is a large sacristy, which duplicates the main facade in shape. For such a small temple, this is quite unusual.
Another interesting aspect of the church is the absence of an apse.
The entrance to the church lies through a brick three-arch gate, built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It is partially made of rubble stone, like the fence. Above the central arch there is a small statue - this is a sculpture of St. Florian, who puts out the fire.
