In a small village Berezovets, Grodno region, you can see the ruins of the Trinity Church. Although this temple belongs to the abandoned ones, its territory is quite well-groomed and inspected. The settlement of Berezovets itself has been known since the beginning of the 17th century as the land of the Lavrishevsky Monastery. Later, the place belonged to the famous Radziwill family, until the middle of the 19th century, and the last noble owners were the Wittgensteins.
The main attraction in the village is Trinity Church. Historians agree that this temple was built at the end of the 19th century, on the site of a wooden predecessor of 1863. However, there is a rather high probability that this information is not entirely correct, and the church was originally built of stone, but in 1866.
During the First World War, this church was badly damaged and has not been restored. An old photograph of 1916, by the photographer Migachev, has been preserved, which shows that the building is already standing without crosses and with holes from shells.
Over the next 2 years, the vestibule was destroyed, partly the sacristy and the light drum.
Then another sad incident happened for this temple - during the hostilities of 1943, a shell hit the building.
In the 60s, it was understandable that there could no longer be any talk of restoring the former church. After the collapse of the USSR, there was a certain hope for an early reconstruction, but unfortunately it never began. In the 2000s, a small wooden church-house was built next to the ruins.
In addition to the ruins of an old church, the village of Berezovets itself, located on the right bank of the Servech River, is also interesting. Here, from the 16th to the 18th centuries, there was a hill fort, on which, according to legend, there was a real princely castle. In 2018, even excavations and archaeological research were carried out.
Although the inhabitants feel that there are not many in Berezovets, however, thanks to their efforts, the ruins of the church are in a fairly good shape. There is no garbage, empty bottles and other attributes of neglect.
