Monument to the Astrologer (square of stars)
Mogilev is a unique city filled with history. Here, almost in the center of the city, there is the only monument in the world to the Astrologer. The area of the stars which an astronomer looks through his telescope is a kind of walk of fame: it immortalizes the names of famous people who left his contribution to the history of sports, music and science.
The Square of Stars is one of the most favorite places among the residents of the city. And not in vain, because this place is a real hallmark of the city on the Dnieper. The well-known sculptor from Minsk V. Zhbanov. It was thanks to him that "The girl with the umbrella, and "Lighting a cigarette ”in Mikhailovsky Square, "Lady with a dog" "Photographer” on the Komarovsky market and many other bright sculptures located on the streets in different cities and countries.
It is said that Zhbanov, when creating this sculpture, consulted with professional astrologers in order to obtain maximum accuracy.
The most talented sculptor was able to cope with a difficult task: to replace the old clock with a new symbol of the city - the astrologer. In 2003, the sculptural composition was ready. By the way, you can still find out the time, because the telescope is a kind of clock hands that on a sunny day point to one of the 12 chairs, symbolizing the division of hours. When in the square, be sure to find a chair that also matches your zodiac sign. Be sure to sit in the chair of your sign and then you can be sure that your greatest desire will come true. The sculpture itself turned out really high. Residents of Mogilev claim that the monument can be seen even from space. Whether this is so, we do not know, but just in case, we advise you to touch the astrologer's finger, because this should bring good luck in everything.
According to some, under the guise of an astrologer is hidden Baphomet (messenger of Lucifer), and the entire monument is covered with occult symbols and Masonic signs.
