What kind of unusual historical objects can you come across while traveling around Belarus. So for example in the village Dubatovka, Smorgon district, you can see 2 ancient German bunkers, from the First World War. These structures are made of concrete and were built in 1916-17, but it is quite difficult to say for sure what purposes they were used for.

On one “bunker” there is an inscription in German “Erbaut II.BATLL.JR33.Mai 1917”, which means - built by the second battalion in May 1917.

The second bunker is located at a crossroads, almost in the very center of the village of Dubatovka.

Here, German engineers added a whole bas-relief above the entrance with frames and pilasters, as well as the inscription – “Gärtners Heim”, which literally means – the gardener’s house. Perhaps this bunker was used as a food warehouse?

Across the road stands a small wooden chapel, built in the first half of the 20th century (1930).

And if you drive away from the settlement a little towards the town of Abramovshchina 3, then in the forests you can find a German field kitchen, where interesting decorations have been preserved on the walls.

If you are in these parts I recommend to go to Danyushevo и Zhodishki.
