Myadel - an interesting city on the border of the Vitebsk and Minsk regions. It is successfully located surrounded by several lakes, including Lake Naroch (perhaps the most tourist destination in the country). There are also attractions here, among which stands out Church of Our Lady of the Scapular. The temple with a rich history and unusual architecture is located on the shores of Lake Myastro.

Church in Myadel was built back in 1754 with the money and support of Anthony Koshchits (the then owner of Stary Myadel). The temple also included a monastery, which was intended for the monks of the Carmelite order.

The architecture of the Myadel church is dominated by the architectural style of the late baroque, but there are also features of rococo.

It is known that most of the Carmelite monasteries were closed after the 1830 uprising. The temple in Myadel was no exception. So in 1832 the Myadel Carmelite monastery was abolished.

Since 1834, on the territory of the temple of Our Lady of the Scapular, there was the Myadel maiden monastery, which belonged to the Uniate church. True, after 5 years the monastery became Orthodox.

To the left of the entrance to the church is a small bell tower, which was built in the early 20th century.

Since 1921, Myadel has been part of Poland, which probably helped return the church buildings to Catholicism. In 1927, the monks of the Discalced Carmelite order returned to the monastery.

In the middle of the Second World War, the church in Myadel was burned down, but the stone walls and the roof of the temple survived. Soviet times are coming, the local priest is sent into exile in Kazakhstan, and a peasant warehouse is located in the church. The church was returned to believers only in 1989 in a dilapidated form.

Today, the Church of Our Lady of the Scapular has been completely restored and is open to everyone. In 2019, an unusual discovery happened: the relics of several saints and a number of rare books were found within the walls of the temple.
