If you’re looking for something to do for a couple of hours in Dubai and want a pleasant experience, I recommend visiting The Green Planet. It’s a unique indoor zoo where you can see many exotic birds, as well as sloths, lemurs, and other animals.

The complex is located near the city’s most popular metro station, Burj Khalifa, making the location very convenient. The Green Planet is a 5-story building, and its entire height is designed around a tree that houses all the local animals.

The format of the tour is quite unusual: you enter through the ticket office and then descend from top to bottom, studying and observing the animals along the way.

Walking around the tree, you can observe the interactions between various animal species. There are noisy parrots that disturb the peacefully resting sloths, and the lemurs often start quarrels and then race around playfully.

There is also an area where amphibians, bats, and even armadillos live.

The entrance fee is 160 dirhams ($50) – this was the price at the time of my visit in late 2023. Interestingly, if you buy tickets in advance through an online service, the price is slightly lower – 140 dirhams, and for children, it’s 120 dirhams.

You can book tickets here and here.

The Green Planet complex is located near a shopping center and a Canadian university. Buses 7 and 14 from the metro stop nearby. Below is the location on the map:
