In the village Zhirmuny, Voronovsky district, there is a well-preserved and now functioning Church of the Discovery of the Holy Cross, is an example of wooden architecture built back in 1789. The history of predecessor churches on this site begins even earlier - at the beginning of the 16th century, it was then that the first church was erected here.

The church that can be seen today for more than two hundred years of history has been preserved almost in its original form, without significant changes. As you understand, this is very rare for wooden churches. Stanislav Radziwill allocated money for construction, and he invited architect Jan Podchaszynski to carry out the work. The result was a rather unusual cross-shaped temple, the main facade of which is distinguished by a peculiar portico on 2 massive stone columns.

The church in Zhirmuny is located in the very center of the village and is clearly visible from the road. Nearby there is a small bell tower, also wooden, as well as a stone gate and fence.

In the Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross you can also see an ancient organ, which was transferred from the previous church. Along with it, some surviving relics were moved to the new building: several icons and sculptures.
