The first mention of the temple in this place dates back to the 17th century, when a large magnate Tyszkiewicz invited to monks of the Cistercian order. Peace-loving Cistercian monks settled on the lands of modern Vistychi, were engaged in agriculture and built their monastic life. By 1678, a wooden church and monastery had been built, although in the middle of the 18th century a strong fire destroyed almost all the buildings of the complex. So on the site of the ashes was erected a new stone Church of Hagia Sophia (1748 year).
The monastery of the order operated until the 30s of the 19th century. After the defeat of the uprising, the activities of the monks were stopped, and most of the buildings were abolished. The surviving church was reconsecrated to the Orthodox церковь at the dawn of 1866.
For a small village in the Brest region, the temple is dominant, and recent restoration work gives the church an increasingly attractive appearance.
