Vishov ruins of the Church of St. Peter and Paul

Not far from the M3 highway, 20 kilometers from Mogilev a small agricultural town Vishov. In this seemingly unremarkable place are some of the most unusual ruins Belarus - the old church of Peter and Paul. Despite the fact that the temple is almost destroyed, the locals have built a small altar and are trying to keep the walls of the former temple clean.

The church was erected in the 19th century in a village called Nezhkovo (later the name was changed to Vishov). This was a significant event for the residents of the Belynichi district - the Peter and Paul Church became the second stone Orthodox church. For more than 200 years, divine services and church services took place within the walls of the church.

After the construction of the Church of the Intercession at the end of the 19th century and the opening of a church parish in the neighboring village of Kryuki, the Church of Saints Peter and Paul ceased to be a parish. She regained her status literally a few decades later, when the priest F. Sivakov returned to serve in this temple.

Unfortunately, during the advent of Soviet power in the 30s of the 20th century, the church was destroyed. This was due to the widespread policy of eliminating religious life.

Already in our years, it was decided to build a new temple, which bears the same name - the Church of Saints Peter and Paul.

You should definitely go to Mogilev and admire the most beautiful sights of this city: Polish cemetery, Church of St. Stanislaus and others.
