In addition to the classic sights, Belarus enough interesting natural objects and places. For example in the village of Karpilovka, Logoisk district, you can see 600 year old oak. Is it not just a tree, but a whole “literary hero” or even more like a muse? The fact is that for many years he lived in Karpilovka Anton Ivanovich Levitsky, known by the literary pseudonym Yadvigin Sh. One of his stories “Oak-jadula”, just describes the old oak that has survived today.
The tree is remarkable not only for its size, but also for its energy. As a small confirmation, a folk trail has already been trodden here.
On the branches, people who come leave colored and national ribbons, and also often perform a ritual - trying to hug the age-old oak. According to legend, the one who hugs will have a cherished wish come true.
The estate of the Levitsky family itself was not preserved in Karpilovka, but a memorial stone was erected on the site where the house stood.
Unfortunately, the old tree was badly damaged several years ago. On purpose or out of stupidity, someone made a fire right at the very trunk.
Next to the Oak-dzyaduli stands DOT under strategic number 193, which was part of the line of the Minsk fortified area. It can serve as a guide for you, from it to the tree is only a hundred meters.
The village of Karpilovka is located next to the P58 highway, turn onto the H8784 road, below the mark on the map:
Near these places you can visit church and the former manor of Borovski in Lukovets.
