Vereskovo - This is a fairly large village in the Novogrudok district. The history of this place is rich, but already rather forgotten and, apparently, of little interest to anyone. According to rumors, coins from the time of the Roman Empire were even once found here. However, today Vereskovo looks rather sad, the main attraction, the estate of the Dybovsky and Brokhotskys, is in ruins.
Once these lands belonged Ventslav Nemyra. It is likely that the formation of manor buildings began under him. The part of the estate that has been preserved was built in the first half of the 19th century. Then Vereskovo owned Tomasz Dybowski. His daughter married Vladislav Brokhotsky. During which the estate was significantly expanded, wooden wings and towers were completed. Below in the photo you can see how the manor house looked in its best years.
Brokhotsky actively participated and helped the rebels during the revolution of 1863-64. For this he was arrested and exiled to Siberia. His wife Helena Dybowska went with him. The last owner of the Vereskovo estate will be the grandson of Vladislav and Elena - Stanislav Brokhotsky. In the 30s of the 20th century, within the walls of the estate, people's house. After the war, the building was used for the administrative purposes of the plant, and then completely abandoned.
Nothing remains of the former grandeur of the estate. The wooden parts have long been demolished and dismantled. Only the main brick volume of the building survived. There are no ceilings inside, a cast-iron balcony and a roof miraculously hold.
In addition to the manor house itself, there are also various outbuildings of the 19th century in Vereskovo. Most of them are abandoned and almost completely destroyed.
Brovar and the former distillery in Vereskovo
The most interesting is the old brovar, which was used even in Soviet times.
After the war, the rubble stone building was expanded. Another brick floor and a new building of the alcohol store were built on. After 1991, things at the enterprise went from bad to worse. Over time, the buildings were abandoned, and in 2021 they began to demolish.
Part of the area has already been cleared. Vereskovo is just the case when, if you are interested, hurry up to see it.
Getting to these parts is problematic and it is better by car. It is optimal to go on a tourist route, capturing Lubcha и Vselyub. A broken dirt road leads from them to Vereskovo. Below on the map is marked the point where the estate of the Dybovskys and Brokhotskys is located.
There is another attraction in Vereskovo - Chapel of the Holy Family, on the outskirts of the village.
