Minsk - Uzda - Pervomaisk, travel around Belarus by car.
On one unusually warm December day, I had the opportunity to go on a short trip around Belarus by car, rather than continue the cycle of materials. The main goal was to see Calvin collection mid-16th century in the city of Pervomaisk, but along the way there was something to see. The road to the city of Uzda, Minsk region, takes about 45 minutes by car, or a little more if you take the train. But you must admit that 150 km is not a distance in order to touch the history and learn a little more about Belarus.
The first unforeseen stop on the way to Uzda was village Kamenka.
Even from the road one could see the dilapidated barn house.
From such places, there is always a double feeling. You seem to understand that this is a historical place - here is the old masonry, the remains of bas-reliefs and walls a meter thick, but mountains of beer bottles and inscriptions “Goose Was Here” are distracting.
After stopping here for a short while, we headed to Pervomaisk itself, on the site of which the estate of the Zavishes “Kukhtichi” once stood.
True, the estate itself was not preserved, and not a trace remained of the manor house.
But some of the outbuildings and the stables are still in place.
Despite the unfortunate fate of the manor complex, it was really interesting to see these buildings, which retained, if not grandeur, then the taste of architects and former owners.
The right wing boasts a proud sign “Historical heritage, architectural monument”but its condition is far from ideal. One of the columns crumbles right before our eyes.
Employees of the agricultural lyceum, on whose balance sheet “legacy of the Zawisze family“, fenced off a dangerous building, from encroachment, and how they can support it.
But the building of the former stable is used to this day. In places plastered, in places not.
Going on this trip, I tried to avoid any information about the state of this former Calvin collection and sincerely hoped to see ruin small fortress. And so it happened.
An excellent example of competent conservation and the most positive impressions from what he saw. Alas, it was not possible to get inside, the gates were boarded up.
After walking a little more around Pervomaisk, we went to tombs of Zawiszewhich I think a lot of people have heard of.
If you dreamed of seeing the ancient pyramids of the Aztecs or Egyptians, but the crisis spoiled your plans, then think about an alternative option - the city of Uzda.
A huge pyramid (by the way, it is tomb the ancient family of Zawisze) catches the eye even from the road and it is almost impossible to pass by.
It is located unusual Sight in the old Catholic cemetery.
Finishing this short Journey around Belarus, we drove through the center of the city of Uzda, for inspection attractions.
I was especially struck in the city Holy Cross Church, or more correctly, the House of Culture of the Uzdensky district in an old building Holy Cross Church.
