One of the last owners Mir Castle were members of the genus Svyatopolk-Mirskywho bought these lands from the Wittgensteins in 1891 year. At that time, the castle was in a deplorable state and Nikolai Ivanovich from Svyatopolk-Mirsky decided to build a compact palace, unfortunately not preserved to this day.
In addition to the palace-estate, at about the same time, they erect distillery, and already at the beginning of the 20th century it was being built family chapel-tomb.
A large reservoir, located to the right of the fortress walls of the castle, was also dug on behalf of Nicholas, according to rumors, these works took more than 2 years. There is even a sad story according to which the founder of the palace died of a heart attack while watching the construction from a small island (this happened in 1898).
Manor Svyatopolk-Mirsky existed for a very short time. The house burned down at the end of the First World War, in the picture of 1917 you can see the walls of the building with a completely burnt roof.
The palace was two-story, made in the classical style of architecture.
In addition to the ruins of the basement, a surviving palace serves as a reminder of the former palace. outbuilding. Son of Nicholas Mikhail Svyatopolk-Mirsky, having returned to Mir in 1921, he did not begin to restore the estate, but settled just the same in this office and was engaged in the revival of the Mir Castle.
Until 1938, he managed to restore 2 towers and several halls in the eastern part. He died before the start of the war and was buried in the family tomb.
