Gorvatts Manor was founded on the banks of the Pripyat in the second half of the 19th century. Early 19th century Narovlya and nearby villages were bought by an eminent family Gorvattov, it is from this moment that the development of this place begins.
First, a manor and a park appeared here, to which a chapel, a fountain, a front stable, a greenhouse, a gate, a guard's house, a rose garden, a stone wall and various outbuildings were gradually added.
Itself Gorvatt's estate It was a large building in the style of classicism, the interior of which had a classical layout with a large number of rooms, rooms and corridors in the side wings of the palace.
In the central part of the house there was a spacious hall, next to which there was a large library, which contained books of the 18th-19th centuries.
One of the features of the estate were parquet floors made of different types of wood, each room had its own unique pattern. The highlight of the estate were numerous paintings (portraits, landscapes, still lifes and much more) that adorned the walls of the building.
Particular attention should be paid to the landscape-type park, which covers an area of 8,2 hectares. It was created in such a way that each alley or just a path would bring new emotions from the views of nature.
With the advent of Soviet power, the Gorvatt estate began to fall into disrepair. For a long time there was a school here. And the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant put an end to the fate of this building - almost all residents left the city and the school was closed.
