City of Volozhin is a district center in the Minsk region, located from capital Cities at a distance of 75 kilometers. One of the attractions is Church of Saints Constantine and Helenabuilt in the middle of the 19th century.
The church is an architectural monument of wooden architecture. It was under construction for more than 10 years, and the work was carried out thanks to the local priest from Church of Saint Paraskeva. Previously, there was an almshouse at the temple, where 4 people lived on donations from parishioners. After a major overhaul, a parochial school was opened instead of the almshouse.
During the Second World War Volozhin Church not only miraculously survived, but even remained open to parishioners.
In the 60s, during the anti-religious policy of the Soviet authorities, the Church of Saints Constantine and Helena miraculously managed to retain the right to hold services.
Paradoxical is the fact that over its long history, the wooden temple has been well preserved. The last major overhaul was carried out almost 30 years ago. But the cosmetic one was caught right at the time of the visit in 2015.
The inner walls of the temple are partially painted, the iconostasis consists of 2 tiers. The church is easy to find on Sovetskaya Street, mark below on the map:
