At the exit from Beshenkovichi, Vitebsk region, there is a village with a symbolic name Candle, where you can see the ruins of the temple, which are being slowly restored today. The Church of the Blessed Virgin in architectural terms is very similar to the ruins Church of Saint Elijahwho are in the village high.

Ruins of the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin near Beshenkovichi

This church was built in the late 19th century, in 1895. It is rather problematic to determine the style of architecture, but the closest thing is eclecticism, or retrospectively Russian.

The temple was erected in the form of a single-nave structure with a towering tower.

Through the efforts of local residents, a new wooden building was built next to the abandoned temple.

The state of the ruins of the church also causes respect. There is practically no garbage on the territory and even the grass is neatly trimmed. It is noteworthy that just a few kilometers from this place there is another attraction. In Slobodka you can see the ruins of the Nicholas ChurchThey are literally 5 minutes drive away. If you are ready for an extra 26 kilometers, then look and abandoned temple in Martinovo.

These ruins are very, VERY similar to the ruins of the Church of the Presentation of the Lord in the village of Mosar, Ushachsky district, Vitebsk region. By the way, not very far from the village of Candles. In my opinion, these churches have one building plan, only in the village of Mosar it is in a more ruined form.
