Racoscorpion, or eurypterid, is a representative of an extinct species of the largest predatory arthropods that have ever existed on earth. Is a relative living today horseshoe crab. Some specimens of the racoscorpion grew up to 2 meters in length.

This predator existed in the Paleozoic era approximately 510 - 248 million years ago. An early form of the crustacean scorpion was found in shallow sea waters. About 325 - 299 million years ago, most of them moved to living in fresh water. They are a transitional link between marine and land arthropods. The disappearance of eurypterids is associated with the appearance of various groups of predatory fish, which took on the role of large aquatic predators.
