Radziwillimonty - once one of the most beautiful estates in the Minsk region, since 1586 - the residence of the Radziwills. Today these places bear the Soviet name - A red star. There is almost nothing left of the former grandeur and the center of the region, however, part of the estate has survived, albeit in a ruined form.
The palace in classical architecture was built in Radzivillimonty according to the project of the architect Carlo Spampani in the second half of the 18th century. Before that, there was also a manor here, but smaller and made in the Baroque style with Renaissance elements.
Manor-palace “Radziwillimonty” considered a prime example of wooden architecture. Initially, the building was one-story, rectangular in shape, measuring about 50 by 170 meters. The central element of architecture is four-columned Doric portico.
On the park side, the palace had a semicircular bay window where the central hall was located. In the right wing, which resembled a rotunda, there was a winter garden, while the left wing had a more traditional shape and was used for living rooms.
At the beginning of the 20th century, most of the estate burned down in a fire, but in 1909 the buildings were restored in accordance with their original appearance. In the post-war period, the estate was used as a school, then abandoned.
A fire in 1991 caused another damage to the historical monument of the Radziwills. Attempts to save this object have not been made. Today, nothing remains of the Radziwillimonty estate in Krasnaya Zvezda. The ruins that can be seen do not give any idea of the scope of the complex, but rather cause sadness and melancholy.
Next to the ruins of the palace stands an abandoned modern brother. An interesting building of the club or administration has become unclaimed and repeats the fate of the estate.
The example of the Radzivillimonts is really sad and I want to believe that it will not be repeated in others places in our country. It's a shame that a place with such a rich history is erased not only from the annals, but also in the truest sense of the word. Perhaps, having arrived in Krasnaya Zvezda in 10 years, there will no longer be a trace of the estate.
In addition to the ruins of the manor house, other buildings were partially preserved, which were mainly for household purposes (brovar, barn, waiter and others).
