On the island Phu Quoc it will be interesting to visit beach of stars, starfish live here in large numbers. Correct name - asteroid, in Fukuoka are orange with sharp needles. In this article, I will share my impressions of beach with starfishand also tell how to get. The local name for the beach is Rạch Vẹm or starfish beach. It is located in the south of the island, it will take a long time to get there, about 35-50 minutes, depending on the distance of your hotel.

It's important: starfish cannot be taken out of the water. Do not do this. Respect nature. Better take a mask and look at them in their natural habitat. All photos from our material were taken on gopro underwater.

Phu Quoc Stars Beach how to get there?

The island has an excellent freeway DT973 (marked in yellow on google maps). A comfortable half way awaits you along this road. Further, after the exit to the local road, the gravel road will begin.

this is how asphalt suddenly turns into gravel
about 15-20 minutes you will find such a road

Do not forget to check the map and signs, if you drive past, you can turn ten kilometers over potholes. For those who go by taxi or as part of an excursion, it will be a little easier.

See tour options at Viator or ask at your hotel reception. Choose a taxi at your place of residence in Fukuoka, but be sure to arrange a round trip in advance.

How is Starfish Beach itself and is it worth going?

To be honest, it is worth going for only one purpose - to see starfish. If you are not particularly interested in this living creature, then think about the expediency of the trip.

The beach with starfish in Phu Quoc is worthy of attention, but driving along a difficult road just to lie on the beach? It doesn't make much sense. There are no interesting establishments, there is enough garbage and a broken road. The main part is the stars, for them and only for them you need to go here. Every day, locals bring a lot of starfish to the very beginning of the beach. One gets the feeling that they are either already dead, or the tourists are finishing off with their actions. It is better not to crowd at the beginning, but to go to the very end of the beach, where the cafes and sun loungers end. The further you go, the better the views.
