Agrogorodok name day in the Drogichinsky district used to be called Torokan and known in the annals from the beginning of the 16th century. The fame of this place was provided by the monks of the Basilian order, who had a large monastery in these parts, built with the support of Leo Kishka. And not just a large one, but the largest of the Basilian ones on the territory of modern Belarus. At the beginning of the 18th century, with Uniate monastery a stone temple was erected in the Vilna baroque architectural style.

Unfortunately, this unique object has not been preserved, however, only a few buildings remained from the monastery.

The most curious of which is barn, presumably erected simultaneously with the stone residential building of the monastery (until 1780).

On the site of the Basilian church there is a memorial plaque, reminiscent of the fact that the church of St. Josaphat Kuntsevich once stood here (since 1839, the Church of the Epiphany).

The religious history of the complex ended in 1897, the buildings dilapidated and gradually collapsed.

In the first half of the 20th century, the residential complex was converted into a local school through the efforts Donat Nowickiwho tried to restore the greatness of this place. At the invitation of this amazing person, even the future Pope Pius XII (* in 1938) came to Torokan.

Despite the fact that the temple has long been gone, it was blown up in 1959, catacombs and tens of meters of tunnels remain underground.
