In Koldychevo there is a memorial complex on the site of a military prison from 1942-44. The object is known as “Koldychevo death camp", the prison became a grave for more than 22000 prisoners. The history of this concentration camp is terrible and tragic, and a visit leaves a strong impression.
On the outskirts of the village, at a distance from the Baranovichi-Novogrudok highway, in 1942 a place was equipped for a terrible prison. The purpose of creating the death camp was not to hold prisoners, but rather to systematically exterminate them. In the summer barracks, in a small area, up to 10000 people were kept at a time, most of them in the open air.
Over 2 years of existence of the death camp in Koldychevo, more than 20 thousand people were killed and tortured here. On June 30, 1944, during the retreat of the Nazis, all the captives were shot, and the prison buildings were destroyed.
