There are suggestions that church in Tolochin began to build on the orders of the king, after the victory in the war with the French. The starting point is 1813. Then the owners of the land Slavinskiemade the first donations for the construction of the temple. Completed work on Church of St. Anthony only 40 years later, in 1853.
In architectural terms, the church is endowed with features of late baroque and neoclassicism. The temple was built on a hill, which emphasizes its monumentality.
The temple in Tolochin functioned as a church until 1930. After the Second World War, the building was used for other agricultural purposes. It was returned to the Catholics at the end of the 20th century, in 1993.
At the beginning of the 2000's Church of St. Anthony was restored, it was planned to open a museum of local lore, but the idea was abandoned.
Across the road from the stone church is another of the main attractions of the city of Tolochin - Holy Intercession Church.
The church is located on Lenin Street, 50 in the center of the city of Tolochin.
