Church of John the Baptist, located in agricultural town of Snov, was built in 1760 year by order of the owner of this area Jan Kryshtof Rdutlovsky. There is another version, according to which the church was rebuilt on the site of its predecessor in 20s, 20th century. Most historians lean towards the 18th century version.
Shortly after the completion of construction, it suffered significantly (during the Bar Conference). Almost exactly a century later, the church passed into the hands of the Orthodox diocese. Since 1863 it has been located here Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
When the territory of the village of Snov was transferred to Poland in 1921, the building again became a church.
During the Great Patriotic War, the temple was badly damaged and was in a dilapidated state until the beginning of the 90s of the 20th century.
It was then that work was carried out to restore and restore the temple. In the course of these works, they tried to preserve the baroque style of the church as much as possible.
On both sides of the main entrance are sculptures of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
