Near Smorgon, in the direction of Lake Svir, there is an agricultural town Vishnevo. Here you can see Church of St. Tadeusz, made in the architectural style of classicism.
The temple is conveniently located on a hillock, on the left is the bell tower, and on the right is the local cemetery.
The construction of the church in Vishnevo began in 1811, and completed in 1820. The work was carried out at the expense of Krzysztof Sulistrowski, whose family owned these lands at that time.
After the events of 1863, the Church of St. Tadeusz was transferred to the Orthodox Church. At the same time, a small dome-tower with an “onion” was built over the altar part of the temple.
After the First World War, the building arrived in a depressing state. In the year 35, 20th century, Vishnevsky church returned to the Catholics and restoration began.
An interesting fact: after the Second World War, the church in Vishnevo was not closed, but continued to function.
Worthy of attention is the bell tower. Bunk, with pitched roof. The base and the first tier are lined with rubble stone. It was built in the 19th century and is the same age as the church.
