An unusual example of wooden architecture can be seen in the village Konvelishki, The Grodno region. Preserved here Church of the Heart of Jesusbuilt in the first half of the 20th century.
The Konvelish temple belongs to the Neo-Gothic architectural style. The tall building is a rectangular log house, ending with a 5-sided apse, flanked by symmetrical two-level sacristies.
The facade is distinguished by a complex bell tower with a spire; small signatures are located on both sides of it. The center of the composition is occupied by a triangular pediment under which there is a rose window.
In front of the entrance to the church territory there is a brick gate, in all likelihood, the same age as the church.
The church in Konveliski was built on the site of its predecessor, also wooden; you can see it in the bottom photo.
The old temple burned down in 1916 and construction of a new one began almost immediately. What is atypical, the church remained operational even during Soviet times, and in 1970 it received the status of an architectural monument.
Next to the temple there is an old cemetery where you can see several interesting grave sculptures.
