Gmina (community) is a unit of self-government adopted in Poland since 1809. Since Golshany was part of the Interwar Poland, from 1921 to 1939, it had its own administration.

The commune was built in Golshany in 1928 year. The architecture is quite unusual for our latitudes, it can be attributed to the style modern. The building is two-storey with a high attic and a portico.

Commune in Golshany

In Soviet times, this building was a school. Then for some time the building was empty, and in 2010 it was sold at auction to a local businessman. After restoration work, a small manor-hotel was opened within the walls of the commune. Apparently it still works today, but unfortunately I did not find the information.

Across the road from the commune stands Church of St. George. A little further down the street is an ordinary Golshany building of the early 20th century.
