In a place with a very pleasant and sonorous name "Dreams" one of the most beautiful palace complexes of Belarus is located – Rdultovsky Palace. The place itself (now agricultural town of Snov) is mentioned for the first time in the middle of the 15th century, as part of the estate Novogrudok Voivodeship ON.

History and architecture of the palace in Snov

Much later, the land passed to the genus Rdultovsky. By 1827 Kazimir Rdultovsky according to the project of the architect Tychetsky, he is building a huge estate in the classical style. The building, about 140 meters long, had hundreds of rooms and halls. Surprisingly, this architectural monument has almost completely survived to this day.

The most interesting sights of Belarus

Under Kazimir Rdultovsky, the manor complex in Snov flourished. At that time, the palace was the center of the social life of the region. In addition, agriculture and vegetable growing developed, and even a cloth factory was built.

Around the palace there is a park with wide avenues overgrown with shrubs and fruit trees, alas, now all this is falling into a slight desolation. Also on the territory of the complex was a decorative water pool, the system of channels of which formed small islands, which can still be seen today.

The palace itself is made of brick with a symmetrical composition. The dominant feature is a two-story volume with a massive four-columned Ionic portico (the main facade).

There were no decorative excesses in the interior decoration. Many rooms can even be called modest, but there are those that are really impressive. For example, a grand ballroom with a high ceiling and windows on both sides. Exterior decor stands out relief cornice along the entire perimeter of the palace, and stucco molding has been preserved on the side wings.

After the death of Casimir, the huge palace in Snova became the property of his youngest son - Evstafy Rdultovsky. Probably the heir lost his father's estate in cards, since in 1854 the baron became the owner of the palace Gustav Harting. In this way, history again became associated with the name of the Hartings.

One of the last owners of the estate was - Heinrich Harting. In 1925, he decided to sell the Snovsky Palace. And a few years later, Polish officers settled here, who adapted the building to their needs (housing, office and even a casino). The building itself has not changed, but the territory of the park has. A spruce alley was planted along the perimeter of the estate, which today hides the palace. A little in the distance, Polish barracks were built, which from the middle of the 20th century served military hospital.

Since 2015, attempts have been made to sell the complex, but to no avail. The buyer was found only in 2021 yearwho exactly is unknown, only the price of the transaction is reported - 300 thousand dollars. It is planned that a tourist site will be organized in Snov, the center of which will be the restored palace.

The abundance of sights makes the agro-town of Snov especially interesting to visit. At one time, through the efforts of Kazimir Rdultovsky, a church was built in the ancient cemetery (it has survived to this day) - Saints Cosmas and Demyan, and tens of meters from it, but already through the efforts of the Harting family, another estate was erected - Mountain Dreams. Also in Snova is bosom. Finding the palace is not difficult, see the mark on the map below:
