One of the attractions of the ancient town of Zembin - St. Michael's Churchbuilt in the early 20th century. The temple was built on the site of a wooden predecessor that burned down in a fire in 1900. By its architecture, the building belongs to the retrospective-Russian style, and the engineer Viktor Ivanovich Struev worked on the project. On his account also the temple of Alexander Nevsky in Minsk, reconstruction churches in Osingorodok, construction bell towers in Borisov and a dozen more significant objects.

After the end of World War II, the church in Zembin remained closed and was transferred to the balance of the local collective farm, which used the building as a warehouse for agricultural products.

There is a rather unusual fact in the history of the temple: the church was badly damaged during the filming of the film “Roll Call”, which was filmed in Zembin in 1964. To implement the director's idea, the altar wall of St. Michael's Church was blown up with dynamite, after which it was rammed by a T-34 tank. The role of the tanker in this movie was played by the notorious Nikita Mikhalkov. When the church began to be restored in 2010, the actor was offered to assist, but he tactfully ignored the offer.

In Zembin it will also be interesting to see Ruins of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary и former mikveh. I also advise you to go to the village of Mstizh, where the estate of Slugs once was.
