The temple belongs to the typical projects of retrospective Russian churches of the mid-19th century. Such churches began to appear actively throughout territory of Belarus after the suppression of the uprising of Kastus Kalinovsky. They were often built on public funds by various committees in order to strengthen the Orthodox faith.
The Church of St. Michael the Archangel, which was built in 1865, was no exception.
