Today's Benyakoni is a large agricultural town in the Voronovsky district, conveniently located near the border with Lithuania. Both the M11 highway and railway lines pass through the settlement. By the way, the railway connection on this section is considered one of the oldest in Belarus and opened back in 1884 (Vilno-Lida-Baranovichi-Luninets). At the end of the 19th century, the same name appeared here. railroad station with its own station.
It is no longer known what the first station in Benyakony looked like, but this interesting building from the first half of the 20th century has been preserved. Zakopane style?
An almost identical railway station is located in the village Bastuns, probably like the Benyakon one, it was built during the period when the Western territory of Belarus was part of interwar Poland.
In addition to the station building, the water tower has also been preserved.
It is noticeable that the roof was rebuilt, but the original architecture, like that of the station, remained unchanged.
The station in Benyakony is now not so active and busy; the main trains passing are either freight trains or diesel from Lida.
Below is the point with the mark of this object on the map:
I also recommend looking at Benyakony Church of Saint John the Baptist, and if time permits, then stop by Gaytunishki.
