In an urban village Begomlthat in the Vitebsk region, an interesting architectural monument has been partially preserved - Church of All Saints. The temple began to be built on the site of the Uniate predecessor as early as 1886, and completed a few years later. Today's ruins do not give a clear understanding of what the church looked like, but thanks to old photos and historical records, it is known that architecturally the temple belonged to retrospective Russian style.

atheistic Bolshevik the authorities actually destroyed the church in the first half of the 20th century. Beautiful domes (there were 7 of them), as well as the bell tower, were demolished. By the way, it is precisely because of these destructions that the facade of the church looks so atypical for Orthodox architecture. The interior decoration was also destroyed and plundered, even the iconostasis was broken. By 1930 Temple in Begoml looked neglected and had already become completely closed to parishioners.

However, in 2006, services were banned for security reasons, as nikah, the temple remained in emergency condition. Around that time, the idea arose to build another building nearby. After long fundraising and construction, which lasted for 8 years, in 2017 a new church was solemnly consecrated - Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

What about the old temple? His condition is also deplorable. The roof has collapsed, the back wall is missing, there is a breach on the side, and the fence has also suffered a lot. The reconstruction of the church in today's realities looks unlikely.

It is regrettable to look at the fact that the government does not properly care for national monuments of architecture. I think that most likely help for the temple should come from entrepreneurs.

Tone and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior designed. Only descendants scornfully criticized his creations. Evaluating is always easier than creating. It is necessary to organize the inhabitants of Vitebsk and save the historical heritage. You expose the problem - this is already the beginning of the matter. Lent is the right time to activate the well-wishers and restore the eternal
