Anda Venice Hostel Experience

Venice hostel overview

The hostel is not located on the island with canals, but next to the station Venice Mestre. Do not be afraid, all trains and buses leave from here, both to the airport and to the island. Train ticket price 1,5 euro, travel time - 10 minutes, arrival at Venice Santa Lucia station. As you know, on the Venetian island, everyone moves only on foot, or by vaporetto (boats).

Of the minuses of the room, the following can be distinguished:

  • since this is a hostel, the whole room is furnished on a budget, if you are used to hotels, then it can be a slight disappointment.
  • there are no glasses and kitchen appliances, as well as a refrigerator (only in the common part of the hostel).
  • The backlighting of the building is too bright, so you need to hang curtains at night.

Of the benefits:

  • spacious room where you can breathe easily.
  • There is air conditioning and a large window.
  • fast check-in and affordable price (by the standards of Venice).
  • Possibility to take breakfast for an additional fee (costs about 6 euros).

Anda Venice has two types of double rooms that differ slightly in size and price. There are rooms with 6 and 7 beds with the ability to book for a company or one person (bed).

Prices vary primarily from seasonality and occupancy of the hostel (this rule works for the whole of Venice). Most of the tourists are in the high season (May - October), although there are enough in the off-season (March-April, October-November). The cheapest time to visit Venice is during the low season, calendar winter.

My husband and I also stayed, a couple of weeks ago, in this hostel. Of the bonuses, we were given coupons for free Prosecco (you could choose cola). In the evening, a band with live sound performed in the lobby. They also got food there. Lasagna for 8€ and very tasty french fries for 3.5€, unfortunately we missed the pasta for 6€, it is sold at certain hours.
There is also a laundry, it is paid 3 €.
Not far from the hostel we found an Italian coffee shop with reasonable prices and delicious coffee and food. And also next to the hostel there is a good grocery store (the prices there are not too high).
